Jazz label Posi-Tone, are currently promoting their 20 year mark as a label. The label has produced over 120 albums from jazz artists including legendary mulch-instrumentalist Sam Rivers, trombonist Steve Davis, pianist Orrin Evans, saxophonist Ralph Bowen, and organist Jared Gold.
Among the artists releasing new albums this year are David Gibson, Brian Charette, Walt Weiskopf, Joe Magnarelli, and Michael Dease. The first release of the year was “Libations and Meditations” by pianist Art Hirahara, and received high praise from New York Times critic Nate Chinen, who echoed the Posi-Tone philosophy by calling the album “respectfully at ease, without being hemmed in by convention.”
